of industrial engineering departmental scholarships.
Allen L. and Sharon L. Soyster Scholarship in Industrial Engineering: For full-time undergraduate students enrolled in Industrial Engineering who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success and who have demonstrated financial need. Preference is given to student who graduated from a high school in Centre County, Pennsylvania.
George F. Bearer Scholarship in Industrial and Manufacturing
Engineering: For full-time undergraduate students
of junior or senior standing who are enrolled or planning
to enroll in industrial and manufacturing engineering and
have achieved superior academic records. Recipients must be
able to demonstrate a willingness to assume some financial
responsibility throughout their college years by involvement
with part-time employment or co-operative education placement.
Francis E. Brady Memorial Award: For seniors
in industrial engineering.
Richard F. Brown Scholarship in Industrial Engineering:
For full-time undergraduate industrial engineering students
who have demonstrated academic ability and achievement, who
have proven financial need and who are United States citizens.
Norbert P. Gaelen Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
Scholarship: For industrial engineering students
of at least junior standing with superior academic records
and with demonstrated financial need. Preference is given
to students who are pursuing skills to successfully manage
a company to long-term success and who have taken or will
be taking courses identified in the Engineering Leadership
Development minor.
James W. Grove Industrial Engineering Scholarship:
For students who have completed their sophomore year with
superior academic records, demonstrated leadership, with evidence
of financial need.
Inyong Ham Scholarship: For senior industrial
engineering students, awarded on the basis of academic superiority
and/or financial need.
Orlando & Mary Houts Scholarship: For
industrial engineering students of at least seventh-semester
standing with demonstrated academic excellence and with financial
need.
IE Faculty/Staff & Alumni: For industrial
engineering juniors and seniors with demonstrated academic
superiority.
Ingersoll-Rand Scholarship: For industrial
engineering students who have achieved superior academic records
or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success. Preference
given to Pennsylvania residents. Recipients will be offered
a paid summer internship with Ingersoll-Rand.
Harold A. Johnson: For industrial engineering
juniors and seniors with demonstrated academic superiority.
Tracy J. Knott Memorial Award: For industrial
engineering students who have exhibited exemplary academic
achievement and who are graduates of State College Area High
School.
William and Wendy Korb Scholarship in Industrial
& Manufacturing Engineering: For industrial engineering
students with demonstrated financial need and a minimum GPA
of 3.0.
Harold and Inge Marcus Undergraduate Scholarships:
For outstanding industrial engineering undergraduate students.
Kenneth S. Moffitt: For industrial engineering
juniors and seniors. Preference given to students participating
or planning to participate in an internship/co-op experience
with Ingersoll-Rand Corporation.
Fred W. Montanari: For industrial engineering
juniors and seniors with demonstrated academic superiority.
Nelson/McGraw Foundation: For industrial
engineering students with superior academic records or who
manifest promise of outstanding academic success.
New York-Penn IIE: For industrial engineering
students entering their junior year with superior academic
records and whose personal qualities would be deemed an asset
to the industrial engineering profession. First preference
is given to students from Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Forest,
Jefferson, McKean, and Warren counties in Pennsylvania; or
the eastern third of Erie county, Pennsylvania; or Allegany
or Cattaraugus counties in New York.
Neyhart Scholarship in Industrial Engineering:
For industrial engineering students who have a proven financial
need.
William M. and Pamela M. Ramsey Scholarship in Engineering:
For all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning
to enroll in industrial and manufacturing engineering and
have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise
of outstanding academic success.
David S. Suarez Memorial Scholarship: For
outstanding full-time undergraduate students majoring in industrial
and manufacturing engineering who are also active members
of their communities. This scholarship, established with a
$50,000 gift from the Starr Foundation, honors David S. Suarez
(IE '99), who died during the attack on the World Trade Center,
Sept. 11, 2001. Suarez, an active volunteer, worked in soup
kitchens and tutored high school students to prepare them
for college entrance exams. This scholarship continues his
legacy of caring.
