| The CAD/CAM Laboratory
provides an instructional environment in the areas of
computer aided drafting and manufacturing, NC programming,
and solids modeling; and a computing environment where
students can put to practice the concepts and principles
they’ve studied in their lectures. Graduate and
undergraduate students have access to several factory
simulation software packages that allow them to design,
layout, and simulate activity in a factory setting.
Three dimensional views and “fly-through”
capabilities enable the students to envision what the
factory layouts would actually be like.
This lab is equipped with…
- 17, Dell Pentium 4, 3.0 Ghz workstations with 512
megabytes of RAM, 128 megabyte graphics cards, 250
megabyte zip drives, and DVD/CD-RW drives
- 20 Inch Flat Panel Monitors
- Black & White and Large Scale Color Laser Printing
- Overhead Projection System with VCR
On these workstations, students utilize software such
as:
- Pro/Engineer to design parts and assembled products
- AutoCAD and FactoryFlow to develop plant layouts
and analyze material handling requirements
- AutoMod to run factory simulations
- MasterCAM to program computer-controlled machine
