| The HAAS Technical Education
Center (HTEC) was established in June 2000, through
the generous support of HAAS Automation Inc. The HAAS
Technical Education Center is the result of a unique
alliance between Penn State University, HAAS Automation,
Inc., and the HAAS Factory Outlet-A Division of DSM
Machinery, Pittsburgh, PA.
Housed in the FAME (Factory for Advanced Manufacturing
Education) Laboratory, the center provides students
with state of the art CNC machines for education and
research. The center is equipped with...
- 8 HAAS CNC Machining Centers
- 4 HAAS CNC Turning Centers
- 6 HAAS Control Simulators
The availability of these machines for undergraduate
and graduate education has led to significant revision
to the manufacturing courses and curriculum, and gives
the students real-life experience with machines used
by the industry.
Courses currently using the machines are IE 310, IE328,
IE450, IE463, IE438, IE 550, IE563, and IME Inc. I &
