PC Classroom

The IE PC Classroom, equipped with both traditional teaching tools and multimedia capabilities, provides a multi-purpose teaching and learning environment for faculty, graduate and undergraduate students. The classroom, equipped with chalkboards, 33 computer workstations, full overhead projection system, and VCR, provides a rich teaching environment.

For faculty utilizing a more traditional teaching style, the computer workstations are installed in specially designed desk units that place the equipment in a recessed position allowing faculty members to maintain a direct line of sight with students. The overhead projection unit is tied into an instructor station that is equipped with the application software available at the student desks. This configuration allows faculty members to display software applications for demonstrations or class walkthroughs.

All of the workstations in the lab are connected to the Internet by high speed network connections to allow for access both to local department resources as well as extended Internet resources. The PC Classroom is open 24 hours a day and is available for IE student computing when a class is not in session.
