Caitlin Zankowski, IE senior, chosen as Thon 2010 overall chairwoman

Caitlin Zankowski, an industrial engineering senior, has been named the overall chairman for the 2010 Intrafraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon. Out of four applicants for the position, Zankowski was selected after a lengthy interview process over the weekend.

Zankowski was a member of the Rules and Regulations committee in 2006, a Rules and Regulations captain in 2007 and 2008, and was the Rules and Regulations overall chairwoman for Thon 2009.This experience, in addition to her being a member of a Thon fundraising focus group, made her stand apart from the other applicants and ultimately be chosen for the leadership position.

The first of Zankowski's tasks is to decide on the new overall committee, which will be selected within the new few weeks. After that, Thon 2010 will on its way to another successful year!

The annual event, which is the largest student-run philanthropy in the country, raises money to support children with cancer. This year's event raised more than $7.4 million for the effort.

Congratulations Caitlin!
