Engineers' paper wins award from IIE
A paper authored by three Penn State industrial engineers has won a best paper award from the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE).
The research project, "Detecting Robust Community Structures: A Robust Optimization Approach," won the best paper award in the Computer and Information Systems track, an award given for the best published paper on computer and information systems in industrial engineering. The paper will presented at the Industrial Engineering Research Conference, held in conjunction with the IIE Annual Conference in June.
The paper was authored by Soundar Kumara, Allen E. Pearce/Allen M. Pearce Chaired Professor of industrial engineering; Tao Yao, assistant professor of industrial engineering; and Supreet Reddy Mandala, a graduate student in industrial engineering.
