IIE student networking reception a success
The Penn State student chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) recently hosted a networking reception for undergraduate and graduate students interested in an opportunity to interact with industry professionals.
The networking reception, located in the Leonard Building lobby, was held on Wednesday, September 16th from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. IIE's objective was to present opportunities specifically for industrial engineering students. The reception provided a relaxed atmosphere where students were able to meet informally with company representatives to ask questions, discuss career choices, and learn more about internship and job opportunities.
The reception allowed IE students access to valuable one-on-one time with potential employers in a quiet, low-stress environment. Over 200 IE students took advantage of the complimentary event.
Twenty one companies were represented at the reception. Companies that attended included Accenture, Amazon, Armstrong, Capital One, Danaher, Goodrich, Herren Associates, Hershey, Ingersoll-Rand, Johnson & Johnson, Keyence, Letterkenny Army Depot, Liberty Mutual, Lowes, MSA, Procter and Gamble, Siemens, Tecolote, UPS, W.L.Gore & Assoc., ZS Associates. Many of these companies currently work with the Penn State IE department on various projects and regularly recruit IE graduates.
