Cooperative Education Program
Penn State's Engineering Cooperative
Education Program (or, the Co-op Program) gives students
an outstanding opportunity to integrate classroom learning
with real-world experience. Co-op students work at professional-level
jobs, often earning enough to help pay their way through school.
Typically, IE students begin the co-op program after completing
their sophomore year, working for a company of their choice
every other semester, for a total of six semesters. Of course,
this means taking a little longer to graduate, but graduates
find their work experience well worth the extra time. On-the-job
training time decreases, and co-op graduates often realize
a starting salary higher than expected. For more information
on the Co-op Program, call 814-863-1032.
Study Abroad Program
Currently, there are two study abroad programs available
to undergraduate students through the Industrial and Manufacturing
Engineering Department. Please see our study
abroad pages for more information.
